R.E. posted this brand new J. Cole cut on his gmail chat list earlier today. After hitting the internet streets to see what else is happening in the world I realized it's pretty much every else on the usual suspects websites.
However I peeped it from R.E. first so props to him.

The answer along with your name may just make it on the air during the show.

Last week three newsworthy events occured: Gucci Mane dropped 'Spotlight' with Usher, Jeezy dropped 'Trap or Die 2' off of the upcoming Thug Motivation 103 and Ballon Boy was found to be a hoax after the kid earled his cookies on national TV.
On this week's episode of Where Is Hip Hop?Mr. Exclusive and I chop it up about two of the hottest rappers out of the A (and the South) dropping new singles and what this means for the game. We also go back and forth on who's the more lyrical of the two rappers **giggle**.
If you've been around these parts for a minute thenyou should already know who I'm riding for.

New Glasses Malone mixtape ya'll. I'm literally listening to the new mixtape as I type. This joint goes hard. Don't sleep on Glasses Malone or the West. Between him, Nipsey Hussle and Pac Div the West is hot this Fall.
Till Death Do Us Part Ft. Xzibit
Download link for Nightmare On Seven Street x tracklist after the jump.
Shoutout to Street Goddess and Hustle 101 TV. I see ya'll and thanks for that Cali support!
In this week's report DJ Mista Soull talks about the new ways artists are getting money in the Midwest. With labels (indie and major) scaling back project budgets many artists are doing tours in the Midwest states to grow their buzz and fan base. Touring and all the accessories that goes along with it is cheaper done in the Midwest vs East Coast and the West Coast. Interesting.
Updates are also given on Scatterman, Omaha's own Houston Alexander vs. Kimbo Slice fight and the upcoming Independent Music Market.
The Midwest is popping this month!
The Midwest Report Segment 5:
*****************************
The Midwest Report with DJ Mista Soull brings you the latest news, current events, and recent updates on the artists and music coming out of Iowa, Missouri, Colorado, Wisconsin and Nebraska. DJ Mista Soull is the CEO/Founder of The Crowd Rocka DJs, Nebraska's most influential DJ coalition.
Alot of interesting things find their way into the inbox. Real talk alot of it never gets posted to the site but this one made me pause.
David X is apparantly a French beatboxer (think Rahzel, Biz Markie) who's a multi-instrumental, multi-tasker hip hop experimentalist.
The title of the video said "David Xbeatboxes while playing the violin and juggling other pedal instruments". So of course I had to check it out. Dude actually goes in and it's pretty incredible. This video is long so forward to the 25:00 mark to check out what the title was talking about.
He then starts rapping faster than Twista but it's all in French so I have no idea what he's rhyming about.

OK so it's no secret by now that ya girl is a nerd. Matter fact I'm darn proud of it. Some who know me outside of the show have said that I live a double life. "Must be two sides" (c) Shawty Lo.

Here's the first leak off of Warren Jae's upcoming new mixtape What Dreams May Come, dropping Thanksgiving eve at midnight.
If you've been hanging 'round these parts for a minute you should already know I dig the artist formerly known as Young Burna (thank goodness that boy changed his rapping name). His music is totally different from the rest of what's coming out of South Cak right now. Not dope boy fabulous but not granola backpack either. Besides, I'm off trap music until Thug Motivation 103 drops. Which is today (well the first leak anyway).
Anyway I like rappers who can sing a little, but really can't sing when you put them up against a real singer, sings and it sounds good. Like 3 Stacks. He can't really sing but he sounds good when he sings.
South Cak's Rebellious Mindz called into the show during last week's feature night to chop it up and also debut their new single 'Leather & Wood' to the listeners of Chapel Hill and the world.
I know the comparisons have been made already but them boys really remind me of a Carolina UGK. Dig em or get left behind.
Carolina hip hop is in such a good place right now. ATL who?
"DJ Babu of the Beat Junkies and Sean Boog of the Justus League [not to be confused with The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League] have teamed up for a project called Los Carolina. Today they released their first single "More Than Okay" by Sean Boog feat. Khrysis and Erica Thompson produced by DJ Babu."

I interviewed Cincinatti/ATL's Street Lotto earlier this year on the show. He hit me up earlier today to let me know that he was on CNN talking about his new project and the new software ZOOZbeat, and how it's impacting his music and the way he creates it.
On some real talk I thought he was joking at first. I mean how often do rappers end up on talking head TV unless their going toe to toe with Bill O'Reily or godness forbid, Rush Limbaugh?
Lotto hit me with the links from the tech edition of CNN. During the episode Lotto talks about a new technology called ZOOZbeat, which allows users to recreate music from their phones. ZOOZbeat seems like the 2009 updated musical version of the clapper. Very interesting indeed.
Fast forward to the 1:11 mark to hear Lotto talk about the new software and spit a couple of bars.
One of my favorite DJ's VA's DJ Peachez is back with a brand new mixtape. The last time we heard from Peachez she teamed up with Nicki Minaj to drop science on How To Make A B*tch Rich. This time around she's going head to head with Brooklyn to NC transplant DJ G. Mac. They're showcasing their DJ skills while taking subtle disses at each other the whole time.
And not just cause I'm a chick too, but DJ Peachez took this one HANDS DOWN.
or have been listening to the show lately you may have noted a bit of a transition. For some reason at this point I'm kinda over trappin' music. Well at least until Thug Motivation 103 drops. There's a ton of topics to rhyme about but so many artists today continue to talk about the same ole things: money, drugs, sex, and clubbing/partying.
The Tabloids has been in constant rotation since it was released. It's hip hop I don't mind playing when the youngins are around. Tab-Uno is 1/3 of Kooley High, who as you should know by now is one of the dopest groups coming out of NC right now. Tom Foolery, Kooley's in house producer, produced a track on the album [The Revival] that gives an uplift in the direction hip hop is taking right now.
The whole sound of the mixtape is different, laid back, inspires personal reflection and takes hip hop to a higher level. See, you don't have to be a trappin' ass n*gga to make music that connects with the people.
"Gearing up for their October 27th release of In The Ruff, DMV's Diamond District is leaking a twelve-track mixtape compiled by DJ Buddy. Featuring four songs from the upcoming album along with a mix of each of the group member's solo work, these tracks all come together to comprise the Diamond Exchange Mixtape with all of the tracks laced together seamlessly with cuts and transitions courtesy of DJ Buddy."
Myrtle Beach, SC rapper x promoter Neff was one of the artist's that called in during last week's Hot! Dope! Fresh! feature night. He premiered his new track '4 Tha Hood' which is pretty dope. During next month's feature show Neff is going to return for a full interview so be sure to tune in on November 5.
Also slide over to Neff'swebsite to keep up with when the next Neffworking event is coming. According to Ma Hustle the last event was off the chain. Carolina let's go.
"In what will be a four-part series, Knotti chronicles the rise to stardom of a future legend, Jermaine Cole. In this episode, J. Cole discusses moving from North Carolina to New York a pursue a rap career, getting signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation & preparing a classic album."
Kooley High: Raleigh, NC based. If you're from RDU and don't know who Kooley HIgh is, SHAME ON YOU. Earlier this month Kooley High invited me to the infamous Break Room Studios in Raleigh where the entire group came together for this interview that they deemed as "therapeutic and much needed" after it was over.
In January Rolling Stone named Kooley High to the Hype Monitor as one of the top hip hop groups to watch in 2009. Since that time the group has released a group project and several individual projects. Kooley consists of Charlie Smarts, Rapsody, The Sinopsis, DJ Ill Digitiz and Tab-One. Both Charlie and Tab have released solo projects. Lone femcee of the group Rapsody is signed to producer 9th Wonder's JAMLA record label with a solo project dropping soon. The Summer Sessions EP is available now on iTunes.
Rebellious Mindz: Florence, SC natives. The duo of Shawt & G and their style of rhyming has drawn comparisons to UGK and Eightball & MJG. Their new project Rebellious: Rise To The Occasion is out now.
Lyrisis: Birmingham, ALA natives. The group is composed of sisters L & J. Simply stated, these girls CAN SING. Their style of music is best described as Hip Hop Soul. Their debut album from 2004 Ghetto Renaissance I consider to be a classic on the underground soul scene. Their current project Lyrisis will be available soon.
In this week's episode R.E. talks about all the hype that was in ATL surrounding the BET Hip Hop Awards last weekend.
Speaking of, at this point you should have a good idea of what went down thanks to Twitter, blogs and Reuters.
R.E. also talks about celebrating a milestone for his blog. It's a celebration b*tches (well sort of).

New mixtape from Da One of those Grind City boys. I don't really rock with Shadyville like that but I support GC's movement cause they support me. Salute!

I met SC artist and promoter Neff earlier this summer at the South Carolina Music Awards. This week his website did a feature of the week on show as a 'Key Player In The Game'. It was a new experience cause I'm not used to being interviewed LOL. Check it out below.
"During my SMES weekend in Myrtle Beach I came across one of the hardest working females in the Carolina music industry, Ms. Nanci O. We actually bump heads during the SC Music Awards this year BUT it was so hectic that I'm pretty sure she doesn't remember that encounter lol. She has one of the hottest online radio shows that the Carolinas has to offer. After a couple of emails back and forth, I was able to get her on the site. Here is what she had to say: ENJOY!
Who is Nanci and what does she represent?
Nanci O, simply put, is a female who loves hip hop. I've had respect for various aspects of the culture for many years. I represent women in hip hop who have a love for the culture, are original and creative.
What other major moves are in store for you?"
**many thanks to Neff, Ms. Marcia & the entire Neffworking team for their support of the show!**

"In Episode #12, Eternia & beatboxer Chesney Snow take us on a journey to the Midwest for the "B-Girl Be" 2009 Festival. E shoots around "E-Theories" with Evidence (Dilated Peoples), discusses the Midwest's fave past time w/ DJ Chela, meets a die-hard supporter who drove 5 hours to see E rock, & fits in a lil' target practice of her own."
Eternia & MoSS's debut album AT LAST dropping soon.
"In the spring of 2009, an A&R affiliated with the Roc got in contact with me. Shortly after, I had the opportunity to submit various tracks for Jay-Z's long awaited BluePrint3 album. Unfortunately, none of them made the final cut. After letting people hear what I sent Hova (including people who know him), they all suggested I release them for the public to hear. This is what the BluePrint 3 could have been..."
