February 11: Feature Night Thursday Is Coming...

The listeners love hearing fresh new music on feature night Thursdays and so do I.
February 11 it all goes down. 9PM-12MN, WYXC 89.3 FM Chapel Hill, NC. Live streaming will be available on the stations' website.

This month several tickets will be given away to the best Day Party on February 27 during CIAA Weekend. This is the 9th Wonder/NuFaces NC Presents The Breakout Day Party you've been hearing about. More details on that later, so stay tuned. In the meantime be sure to follow the show on Twitter and link with me
on Facebook, as updates about the ticket giveaways to this event and others is coming soon and will be annouced at those spots first.

Several interviews are on deck during Feature Night with artists who have been working hard to get their buzz up. Both Lo Keys from Fayetteville, NC (First In Flight, what's up) and The Transfers, three students at Winthrop University who are getting their music hustle on too, will be guests on the show that night.

Track submissions are still open, email .mp3s {clean/radio edits ONLY} to: thenancioradioshow@gmail.com. I'm saying, if you send in something dirty and it's marked as clean, your sh*t will never get played on the show again. Play with it.

In the meantime check the playlist from January's feature and keep those tracks rolling in!

Looking For A Guest Blogger...Could It Be You?....

Exciting things are happening around these parts, in front of and behind the scenes. I'm considering letting a guest blogger occasionally fill in the role of posting new music, reviews, news etc and the like.

If you feel you can bring something fresh and interesting hit me up.

**You Must**:
Love especially Hip Hop, but also be open to all types of music.
Be unbiased (this means not just posting your mans and them stuff).
Be able to write clear and concise sentences, blogs and posts.
Be able to commit to a minimum of four blogs/posts a week.
Be original, un-cookie cutter and the type of person who is not scared to color outside the lines.

Intersted? Email a blog/writing sample to
thenancioradioshow@gmail.com.
Be sure to include your contact information.

Where Is Hip Hop? Episode 38...

The 2010 Grammy's have come and gone. Did you watch the show? On last week's episode Randy Exclusive and I reviewed the 5 Rap Grammy categories and pick our winners for each one along with the reason why.

The fact Eminem, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent won Best Rap Performance Duo/Group for their 'Crack A Bottle' track (I'd never heard of it before last week either) and Eminem won Best Rap Album for Relapse makes me question The Academy's judgement.
Relapse over The Renaissance? C'mon son.

It was also Randy's birthday, so I had to give dude a special shoutout. 'Preciate ya always R.E.!

'Rage Against The Machine' (Open Bar Season Week 5)--Web...

So Web has a weekly track dropping series going on called Open Bar Season. Here's week five, which is an interesting track, considering an article I read over on TJ Chapman's blog recently, titled 'How To Reach Out To Bloggers.

Web's Disclaimer:
"This freestyle is not about ALL bloggers. I wouldn't exist if it wasn't for people like Kevin Nottingham so obviously this isn't directed at them. I wrote this after some bad experiences with a few particular bloggers. And I'm sure that upon listening to this, a lot of people out there in the blog world will agree with me. There are a few people who've taken things a lil too far and so I took this week to vent and get it out. As an artist one of the hardest parts of my job is keeping some of these guys happy."

Okay then. My only question is, when did it become that serious?

Wordsmith's Vintage Files Episode 3...

Somehow I missed the first two episodes. **Kayne Shrug**
"Here is a little behind the scenes footage from Wordsmith's Music Video shoot for his UK Single, "Tour Guide to New Bride," appearing on his debut album Vintage Experience dropping March 30th, 2010."

In the meantime The Vintage Vault Mixtape is coming on February 23rd.
